About Us.

St John’s Church Beckenham is a lively, friendly, Church of England church with a relaxed and informal feel. We are a church family of all ages who are seeking to love God with our whole lives and to share his love with others.

Our History

St John’s Church was planted in 1932, to serve the new housing that had sprung up due to the new Hayes railway line. The vision was always to be an Evangelical church and to be a place that both served and could be used by, the local community.

The church site has changed and the halls have been developed over the years, but our purpose remains the same - to gather and serve the local community and to share the love of Jesus.

Belonging to the Family

If you decide that St John’s is the place for you, there is no formal membership. However, we would consider the following five steps to be a key part of belonging:

  1. Join us regularly at one of our church services

  2. Join a Life Group

  3. Find somewhere to serve within the life of the church

  4. Give a portion of your income regularly back to the church if you are able

  5. Tell others! Share your story with those around you
