St John’s is going to New Wine Festival!

Next summer, we’d love as many of the St John’s family as possible to join us at New Wine Festival 2027.

New Wine is a wonderful opportunity to get away together for a few days — to worship, learn, pray, relax, have fun and enjoy being together as a church family.

And when we say the whole church family, we really mean it.

There are programmes and activities for children and families, youth, young adults and adults of every age, as well as Accessible Church, helping make New Wine a place where everyone can participate and belong.

Whether you’ve been to New Wine many times before, haven’t been for years, or have absolutely no idea what New Wine is, we’d love you to come with us.

What happens at New Wine?

There’s a huge amount happening throughout the week.

There are large celebrations with worship and teaching, smaller seminars and workshops, dedicated programmes for children and young people, activities for young adults, Accessible Church, cafés, food, entertainment and plenty of opportunities simply to relax.

But one of the best things about going to New Wine as St John’s is what happens between all of that.

We’ll be living alongside one another for the week — sharing meals and cups of coffee, watching the children play, getting to know people we perhaps only normally say hello to on a Sunday, and spending time together without having to rush off.

It’s as much about being church together as it is about attending the New Wine programme.

Come and camp with St John’s

We’re planning to have a St John’s camping area, and we’d really love as many of us as possible to stay together.

You certainly don’t need to be an experienced camper. Tents can range from something very simple to something considerably more comfortable and don't forget, caravans, RVs, and camper vans are also very welcome and don't forget, caravans, RVs, and camper vans are also very welcome!

There are options for hiring a caravan, so not owning your own equipment doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t stay with us.

And if camping really isn’t for you, please don’t let that stop you coming.

There is plenty of accommodation in the surrounding area, including hotels, B&Bs, holiday cottages and other options which can be booked independently. You can stay off-site and still join us at New Wine during the day.

But if you possibly can, come and camp with us.

There’s something rather special about having the St John’s family together in one place for the week.

When you book your New Wine ticket, you will be asked which church or group you would like to be connected with.

Please make sure you select:

There are a lot of churches called St John’s, so please check carefully that you have selected the St John’s, Beckenham before completing your booking.

This is important because New Wine uses this information to put churches together in their camping areas. If we all select the same St John’s, it means we can be allocated together.

Please don’t just select the first “St John’s” you see!

We’d love New Wine 2027 to be something that brings together every generation of St John’s — children, teenagers, young adults, families, singles, couples and older members of our church family.

You don’t need to know exactly what to expect. You don’t need to be an experienced camper. And you certainly don’t need to have been to New Wine before.
